According to recent market research, more than 60% of Senior Procurement professionals in South East Asia believe that Procurement can have a major impact on business performance. Additionally, 56% said that they will focus on strategic/competitive sourcing; around 47% marked that they would pursue procurement efficiency; and 36% marked interest in cost/spend reductions. This highlights the Procurement Reformation, which is taking place in South East Asia, moving from tactical functions to a strategic role.
In this quarterly meetup, we are honored to have Supakit Kitsaran with us, who is the Strategic Sourcing Manager of Siam City Cement, with more than 17 years of experience in Procurement, spanning across different industries such as latex, steel, copper, third party services, and logistics. Supakit will look into the business climate of South East Asia for Procurement in 2018. We will dissect the challenges that procurement professionals face across South East Asia and Asia, and how these challenges are being currently addressed. We will examine the tools and technology that are instrumental in the Procurement Reformation of this region, as well as other motivation factors that drive South East Asian Procurement professionals in this reformation – such as low-cost operations, rapid market growth and China's growing influence on South East Asia.
About Gosourcing Procurement Quarterly Meetup
This is a quarterly meetup for procurement and supply chain professionals to come along, learn and share their knowledge and the latest industry news and best practices to all.
Unlike other large annual procurement conferences, we believe frequent small events will create a more vibrant, closer and stronger procurement community.
As we meet every quarter, we will invite a guest speaker to talk about the latest procurement strategy and trend. You can mingle with your peers and discuss the key issues of the day over light refreshments.
Building a Strong Strategic Procurement Community
We are building a community of procurement leaders in South East Asia that promotes strategic thinking in procurement to meet the changing skills requirements at work. We see more companies are getting more strategically savvy, and the role of procurement is evolving in conjunction with this.
